Despite recent moves in the right direction with getting caught up on processing, the IRS is experiencing a new addition to their backlog. In many cases where taxpayers have claimed certain tax credits and deductions, the IRS is requiring additional information and documentation to support the claims. This is causing an increase in processing time so please be aware and be patient as they continue to catch up!
